Day of exploring!

Hello!

Fun day of exploring the Island and getting to know it! We checked out Zade's new work and took a little tour...then we just started driving! We drove nearly all the way around the Island - how beautiful!!! Stopped for dinner in Haliewa and now back at the hotel resting up for some more exploring tomorrow. We found some really fun beach spots...these pictures are of one place we found called the blowhole, looks really fun to go for a day at the beach! It is so pretty here! I keep forgetting I actually LIVE here! Amazing!
Okay, enjoy the pictures!

Much love!

Oahu!!

We're here!! What a long day yesterday! Sheesh! Got the airport at 3:00 in the morning for our 615 flight. Everything went great! Ruby was the best dog in the world, and they even came and told me when she got on the plane - SO great because I was totally going to worry that she would be stuck in San Fran the whole time! The lady on the plane even gave Zade and I a local Hawaiian CD since we have a dog - not sure, but I thought it was the sweetest thing ever! Watched Julia and Julie on the plane (great movie!!). Finally got into Honolulu, got our bags and car and off to pick up the cutest dog in the world! She was just waiting there in her kennel - she looked really mad! The process was SUPER easy and only took about 5 minutes before my precious ruby was back in our care :)
All that worry for nothing!!
Checked into our Hotel which is SUPER nice by the way (so thank you for all you tax payers!), walked around a little and found a cute little place to eat overlooking the ocean (AMAZING). After eating we took a nap which ended up lasting 15 hours so here we are - Saturday am, recharged and ready to explore our new home! Here are some pics of the hotel and of the welcome sign at the Airport :)
Off to explore!

love you!

Finally!

Finally! Wifi! Been having so much fun, no time to write ;)...and no wifi! Just got to Colorado to Zade's cousins house - delicious dinner and lounging on the couch with ruby dog and hubby! Spent the last couple days in Sheridan Wyoming at Zade's cousin Zach's ranch - loved it. Ruby played outside and wandered the ranch like a good dog and visited with the horses. Zade and I visited with grandparents and saw a little bit of Sheridan.
We went to King's Ropes where they sell over 50,000 ropes per year and make all sorts of fun saddles and really amazing leather work! We got to see how the ropes are spun and dipped in wax then laid out to stretch them.
Just made a reservation for our hotel in Hawaii - the guy gave me a crash course on moving to Hawaii (military move) and he told me we most likely would not have to wait more than 14 days for a place to live - and the housing for Zade's command is brand new - YAY. so fun, hope it works out!
Alright well off to relax. Cousin Emily is handing out massages so Im going to get get in on that action.

Freezing in Forsyth!

Hello!

Been a few days since I wrote! Woops. Friday we had a fun filled day of sledding and snow tubing at Zade's uncle Kevin's place. My abs still hurt from laughing so hard. The snow is so much fun! Who knew?! I will post pics of my rediculous snow getup when we get somewhere with WIFI...not sure the town of Forsyth has WIFI.
We got to Zade's parents house yesterday...pretty sure we have been eating ever since. Annie made DELICIOUS pizza and breakfast AND prime rib for dinner - annnd I forgot amazing soup for lunch. Had a nice relaxing day! Went walking to the park with Ruby and my Mom in law and Shayla my niece.
Ruby played in the leaves and burned off some energy. She has found herself a nice little place to lay in front of the fire...I don't blame her, its quite cozy! :)
Not sure what we will be up to tomorrow, leaving Forsyth Tuesday to head for Sheridan Wyoming for some more visiting.
Promise I will post some pictures soon!!

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Snow!

Hello! Woke up to a foot and a half of snow this morning...and counting! Its STILL snowing! We are getting ready to go venture out in it...I cannot believe that life goes on when there is this much snow fall! In Virginia Beach it flurries and the whole world closes...we are venturing into "town" to go to the "mall", Wendy tells me I will be "amazed" - not to sure about that :)
Really need some snow boots right about now! Yesterday's hunt for Christmas Trees was colder than expected - we were way up high in the mountains brrrrrrr! So not much hunting for trees happened. The view was gorgeous! Zade and Dustin are out hunting today but seem to be returning a little earlier than expected - could it possibly be too cold for even them?!
Ruby LOVES the snow and playing with her new BFF Scout - they are so funny! She hesitated a little before diving into the snow this morning but she does love it! She is napping now, surprise surprise!
Well, out to see what all this snow is like!
Here are some pictures of yesterday's adventures and the snow this morning.

Brrrrrrr!

Good Morning!! Just thawing out from a FREEZING run! I should have been tipped off by the snow on the mountains but I ventured out anyway. Having fun here in Montana visiting with the Berdahls! Wendy, the kids and I went to the Hot Springs yesterday - it was SO relaxing and fun. There was 6 or 7 pools all different temperatures from boiling hot to icy cold - I steered clear of the icy cold one.
The boys went hunting yesterday (pics to follow) - didn't get anything but saw a lot!
Wendy made a gigantic delicious dinner and I even helped! :) Today we are going to go Christmas Tree hunting. Not to get one just to hunt out a good one :) I've always wanted to do that!
Ruby is having a good time learning how to be a "real dog" - stays outside all day and everything! Suppose to snow tomorrow so she might get to play in her first snow ever!
Off to shower and get ready to go hike up and search for the perfect tree.

Road Trip

Two days - 2300 miles! We made it to Montana, finally. Cruising through middle America was not as scenic as I thought it would be. We did see some interesting things along the way, but mostly just the road. Stopped once for a 4 or 5 hour sleep, the rest just little breaks to walk Ruby and refuel.
I drove a little bit maybe a little too late at night...I swore I almost hit a scotty dog one night...Im sure that was the point at which we decided to catch a few Z's. This was also after driving on "Zero Miles to Empty" for several miles. Sweaty palms and I felt like I could puke for the entire 20 minutes while we searched for an open gas station. Apparently gas stations close down before 10 pm in some parts of America...who knew?
After a solid 24 hours of driving on Day 2 we arrived in Bozeman, Montana!
Just relaxing and recovering from the long drive today - maybe a mountain run later :)
